Why? Because your body needs essential fatty acids (EFA) to help your body process food you consume so to release the energy needed for your life processes. EFA is responsible for transferring the oxygen throughout your body and for regulating the nutrients in and out of the cells along with other functions it has.
Nutrients from plants also play a major role in anti aging. Fruit, vegetable, and plant extracts have an impressive display of chemical components called phytochemicals or phytonutrients, that are greatly beneficial to skin health and beauty.
There are many classes of phytonutrients, and antioxidants are one of them. Antioxidants work by supplying an extra oxygen molecule to those molecules that are missing one. Those molecules that are missing an oxygen molecule is called free radicals. Anti-oxidants neutralize the free radicals that would otherwise damage your skin cells which causes aging more quickly.
Vitamin E is an anti-oxidant, therefore, a preventive measure in slowing the aging process. Eating nuts, seeds and oils that are rich in vitamin E protects you from the aging effect of these free radicals by neutralizing the free radicals before they can cause damage.
