Fats In Fast Food

Many people are familiar with the governments recommendations on having your total fat in take to 20 to 35% of your daily calories. They can’t tell you exactly what percent as everyone is different but this is a good percentage to shoot for.

An example would be a person on a 2,000 calories diet would need to consume 65 grams of fat daily to meet their dietary needs. Most people here this think that is a lot of fat and there is no way they eat that much in one day. This is where portion size is widely construwed and miss used as the average American believes a serving size is 2 to 3 times larger than initially stated by the National Dietition Assiciation.

Hearing this response repeatedly I came up with a couple iteams from fast food joints that I would like to say are MONDOSIZE than regular super-size. Let’s take a look at how many calories and fat are in these fast food favorites.

Monster Thickburger

Hardee’s made headlines when it introduced its Monster Thickburger in November. The burger has two 1/3-pound charbroiled patties, topped with bacon, three slices of American cheese and mayonnaise, all between buttered buns. Wow!

Nutritional Information: 1417 calories, 107 g fat

Enormous Omelet Sandwich

Last month, Burger King introduced its Enormous Omelet Sandwich, packed with two slices of American cheese, two eggs, three strips of bacon and a sausage patty on a toasted bun.

Nutritional Information: 760 calories, 50 g of fat

Super Shakes

Hardee’s has introduced old-fashioned milkshakes with hand-scooped ice cream that double the fat content of its old milkshakes. Sister chain Carl’s Jr. is in the process of testing the new shakes in its stores.

Nutritional Information:

New Shake: 715 calories, 33 grams of fat

I hate to bust your bubble but eating this in one sitting is almost impossible and is more likely to be stored as nasty fat.
