Is Fasting The Way To Go?
Sunday, 2 March 2008
Fasting has been used throuh the ages but what really are the benefits on weight loss and healthy living? It sounds so easy as no counting calories, no cooking because of no food for quick fasting and fast way towards weight loss.
Will fasting be the answer:
- Fasting effective for weight loss
- Fasting aid in medical conditions
- Fasting could have you living longer
Or is fasting just a harmful process?
Finally, is fasting really healthy? Even though it has been practised for thousands of years for spiritual, physical and mental reasons is it really everything it is made out to be?
Researchers have no proof what so ever that fasting cleanses the body of waste in the body as are bodies already do that every night. Fasting aid in removing toxins from your body when going without eating for more than a day or two, the body enters into ketosis. Ketosis occurs when the body runs out of carbohydrates to burn for energy, so it burns fat. And the fat is where the body stores many of the toxins it absorbs from the environment.
Hundred of studies are develop for proving that fasting aid in a longer life, weight loss and improving mental focus but the truth is with regular exercise and healthy eating, fasting has limited benefits.
Stick to eating a well-round diet with plenty of fruits and vegtables and keep up on the exercise routine and healthy living will be yours without the time suffering through major hunger pains.
Have a great day and God bless!
