What affects weight gain?
Energy is everything in the body from building cells to muscle development. Energy is measured in calories. Calories are measured on how much fuel their is in food. Our bodies are just as car engines as we only burn up and use the energy we need for that day and the rest gets stored.
The average women needs about 2,000 calories a day in her diet and the average man about 2,300 calories a day. Anymore calories than this without exercise means calories must go into storage and that means “fat.” So what affects weight gain? Age, pregnancy, metabolism, growth and genes sums up most of the factors.
Age
The older you get after being completely full grown the slower your metabolism gets and the less calories you burn per day because of loss of bone and muscle.
Pregnancy
Women may not loss all their weight from pregnancy so after a couple the pounds can add up. Surveys show that most women gain more weight every pregnancy of having kids means being heavier useless they choose to exercise and eat healthy.
Metabolism
Do you wonder why you can’t lose weight or why you put weight on so easy and other don’t? It’s your metabolism! If you have a slower metabolism than you will have to eat less and exercise more, on the other hand if you have a fast metabolism than you can eat more and exercise less.
Growth
As you grow or gain extra weight your fat cells grow larger as also everything else on your body. That is why yoiu hear the study heavier kids have more chance of being heavier growing up so healthy eating and exercise is crucial for your children.
