It is not easy to lose weight, it is hard, takes time and effort. Weight will not go of from any miracle pill. You have to try hard and change your lifestyle if you want to succeed.

“Change your lifestyle” this is easier said then done. Permanent weight loss takes time, effort, commitment. But why should we try so hard to lose weight? There are lots of reason why:

l to feel better

l to be healthier

l to look better

l to have more energy

l to wear shorts in the summer and feel comfortable

This list is endless and if you are one of those wishing to lose weight, you will think about many other big and small reasons to start.

Your weight affects not only your appearance but your overall quality of life. Before starting any change be sure that you would like to lose weight for the right reason and not because of someone else as permanent weight loss takes time and effort.

To help you lose weight on your own, here are some tips for you:

make a commitment

1. Make sure that you want to lose weight for yourself and undertake diet and exercise changes to please yourself. Resolve any other problems in your life so you don’t get distracted by other life issues on your way. Be sure you are ready to take on the challenge

get support

You don’t have to do this all by yourself. Seek help and support from friend, family some one who knows you and wants only the best for you who will listen to your problems and encourage you.

set a realistic goal

1. Don’t plan to loose 30 pounds in the first month, aim to lose 1 or 2 in a week or let’s say a small percent of your current weight. Small, realistic goals are more attainable. Remember one lost pound is 3.500 calories burned. You can achieve this by exercise and burning calories or you can eat less and in the end the first pound will be gone! Make sure that you have an achievable exercise plan, like walking one hour a day, five days a week.

eat healthy

1. make a daily calorie plan, the best way to do this is by consulting your doctor or a nutritionist who will help you eat healthy and still lose weight. Adopting a new eating habit is not easy and you don’t have to eat less and be hungry all the time, you just have to eat meals with lower calories, eat plant-based foods – fruit, vegetables, whole grains. Cutting back calories is easier if you cut back on fat but don’t exaggerate a healthy body needs at least 1200 calories a day for women and 1400 a day for men. You will have to think of an alternative plan to cope with emotional eating. Most of the people with weight problems have a habit of eating when they are stressed, so it is better to be prepared.

Exercise

1. Get active and stay active. Dieting alone doesn’t help you have to exercise and burn calories to lose the extra weight. The goal is to burn more calories then you eat and any extra movement helps you lose fat. Choose an exercise routine and try to be active during the whole day, take the stairs instead of the elevator, walk home or to a shop instead of driving with your car.

Don’t weigh yourself every day

1. your weight will change from day to day, try to avoid weighing yourself because it will discourage you. It is enough if you weight yourself once a week, same day and same time.

You can change your lifestyle if you want too, but look at your eating habits and daily routine to see what you are doing wrong. Simply admit the mistakes and gradually try to change these. It is likely to have setbacks but don’t give up, start fresh the next day. Remember why you are doing all of these and if you stick to your plan, you will succeed! It is going to be difficult, but just because something is difficult, it’s not impossible!
